After years of software development, Old Neighborhood Foods has implemented a unique, fully integrated manufacturing tracking system – one of the first in the meat packing industry. This system helps manage and control the manufacturing process, inventories, and shipping systems efficiently…from the moment the raw materials arrive, through the processing plant, and as finished product assuring that only the highest quality, wholesome products are served on our customers’ tables.
It starts when specialists examine all raw materials to verify that only the highest quality meat is introduced into the processing plant. The meat is then tagged with bar code labels allowing Quality Assurance and Manufacturing personnel to oversee the products’ progress, and to assure that food purity is maintained.
As finished Old Neighborhood products travel through laser scanning stations, inventories are automatically and instantly updated; a system which virtually eliminates product shortages. Finally, radio frequency scanners aid in the shipping process, allowing workers to quickly fill orders, accurately match purchase orders with products, and, ultimately, generate billing and sales reports.
